Carmelo Records Paying attention!

Recently I got contacted by a record label that goes by the name of “Carmelo Records.” Did some research on the label and it turns out, that the label is the real deal! It’s scary to know that I nearly lost out on this opportunity because I first told them that my manager will handle it but, that’s in the past.
THE FUTURE IS NOW!!
After talking to Bruno ( label rep ) he told me that I have to be accepted to join. This just made me WANT IT MORE. So, he sent me a beat and told me to rap on it. It was a jazzy type Amy wine house banger. He also told me it was going to be a hard beat to rap to, but I’m Owen-Ness and Owen can rap to any track!
I begun writing and the deadline for this one is march 13,2013, I hope I get excepted I need a break!
I’m moving forward!!!

Management...

Originally my plan was to give you guys “Crownless King” as a final free mix-tape. Being that i am moving forward with my career, my managers suggested that i drop at least 2 albums a year to generate some real income from my tunes. However, at the last minute there was a flag on the play. (sudden change) they decided to remove the 4 cover songs and replace them with 6 original songs from previous tapes to make “Crownless King” a completely profitable project. I really wont go into detail on the percentages that were thrown my way, but to make long story short i was annoyed at the whole situation. Realizing that this is the business, and i will go through some set backs, i heard my team out and made a wise decision. I put a hold on the project to get the paper work done and fully hire my management company legally through documentation. Being that we are now dealing with money, i can see many discrepancies bubbling on the horizon and it is my job as thee artist to make sure i am secure always.

Contract Time!!!!!!!!!

I felt like since D.E. and Dimitri were getting serious with me and helping me achieve my goals, that it was time to hire them on a trial period for 1 year. Thankful enough, i have a smart brother on my side to walk me through any contract, and point out any flaws, pros and any other cons. I didn’t come this far to be sloppy, and i know the music business will eat you! I’m not saying that this is Dimitri’s intentions, but with my ignorance to the business aspect of the hip-hop industry, I’m going to need him through my career to protect me and keep money in my pocket. providing that reinsurance and working through any and all loop holes a contract may have on me. So until i handle this management contract i will be holding off on “Crownless” King and further work with Dirty Empire. Ill do my best to muscle up a free mix-tape with cover songs on it special for you all because i know alot of you have been anticipating the release of “Crownless King,” and i understand the frustration the set back can bring to my supporters.

These are all necessary pronunciations that need to take pace….

Back on my board....

Back to my kick push ways! shout outs to Lupe Fiasco i look up to brother know that! …on to this blog (lol)
If the title doesn’t say it all, I “Anthony Owen-Ness Spence” is a skate boarder again! This time around i’ll stay a boarder for life as well as a musician. I plan to be as great of a skateboarder as i am a rapper this time around. My Stance is Regular and i have some switched moves as well, i really love the joy of skateboarding. There is a huge aspect and essence of abundant happiness and freedom when i skate. i feel so in tune with nature and just so alive. i picked it back up because i wanted to get back to the old me. i noticed that i was smoking too constant and my physical appearance yet ok, could be alot better. so, there is the work out aspect of it i enjoy as well, and the added stamina will do great for me when its tour time. Many of you don’t know this but, i was a sponsored skateboarder at one point in my life. Yup, Owen is back on his board, and he couldn’t be happier
P.S. - skate session videos coming SOON !!

Skateboarding

Aside from being a dope ass rapper (lol @OwenNess to find out hoe!) i am a great skateboarder.. My favorite trick would have to be the caballero because i like how the spin looks. I was so good at flat land regular tricks that i could do most of my tricks in switched. No Lie! honestly, i was a sponsored Skate boarder as a teen, i got boards, stickers, elbow pads, and helmets! Yup, this is something that i miss, i remember it being like 12 am going on 1 in the morning and me and skate team #TeamEast would be rolling around Hackensack city rippin it up…death valley races and all…skate sessions like pros…i’m going to get back on my skate shit..and do it like no other skater emcee ever….

Easing them in....

I used to keep myself inside of that box rapping about how other rappers weren’t as nice as me, (basic hiphop) and my flow how its nice,
( again basic) but now, i have introduced “Concepts” to my artistry and it has been getting me plenty kudos from my supporters. I couldn’t be any more happy with the reviews that my latest ” New Track Tuesdays ” joint is receiving. “Rules of meditation” is a conscience hit (in my opinion) and i hope all who listen to it appreciate the depth of that song, for it is a powerful one.

Bringing my fan base away from hearing me on tracks like “US” and “Man in  my city” (Ft. Mystery Cipher) will open their eyes and respect me on a whole other level. yes i can rap, and use the same trap Houston flow ( style of rapping)  but listening to Kendrick Lamar’s music has made me open up and i have now stepped out of that box that he was talking about. Yes i will be still rocking out some club bangers for my people, but expect my records to have more of a personal and deep feeling…
speaking on topics that every day people go through, as well as speaking on subjects that either bother me or just for because i want to !
i have hidden every lock…
